Did any of you consider these weapons to be for self protection?

That is why when you get up high enough to feel threatened, you hire a trained and licensed bodyguard who may legally carry a weapon.

If you're still scrrrrrrrd, wear a flak vest, or I don't know.... STAY THE FUCK HOME.

You don't buy a freaking machine gun for 'personal protection'. That's ridiculous.

So dude thinks he's gonna get shot at outside a club... dude pulls out an automatic weapon... dude probably does not know how to handle the thing to begin with... who gets shot? Bystanders. Yeah, and maybe whoever dude felt threatened by to begin with... but the risk to others is too great.

Even police officers don't pull a machine gun. Someone who knows what he is doing can do it perfectly well without spraying the whole damn block down with a lead-storm.

Machine guns are for REAL soldiers (and I don't want to hear the usual bull about being a soldier in da hood), criminals who don't give a shit WHO gets caught in the crosshairs (eh- partly because ya just don't have to look through them), and fools who skipped target practice.

That guy ain't no soldier sweating his balls off in a tank in the desert and getting shot at on the regular.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and call him a dangerous fool, but on paper... he's a criminal. REally, there isn't much difference.

Stinky's got her point..I think a simple 9mm would have been fine to purchase. I dont know about the buyer being a felon though :/
