Very Very Small Grow Cab!!
Hey all,
I have been lurking for a little now.
I am in the slow process of planning a hopefully perpetual grow for my own med use. I already have a grow cabinet and will be collecting supplies over the next few months. The cabinet is not ideal, it has 2 identical sized chambers one will be for "mom" and the other for flowers. That's the idea anyway. If possible I would like to keep as much contained within the cabinet as possible. Here's my dilema, each chamber is 19" deep, 48" tall, and 33" long. I am considering SCROG, to maximize my little space but am at a loss when it comes to a good hydro system that would be self contained, I guess. From what I have read Hydro would be the best for the SCROG method. I can't have a resevoir sitting by this thing and there is not enough room inside. If I don't SCROG then I am faced with the prospect of only flowering maybe 2 plants, maybe! I go back and forth on the idea of keeping a mother or just starting from seed with each new grow. That would allow me to use more space, get more med, but take a little longer too. I still like the idea of SCROG though. What the hell should I do, am I overthinking this or what? I just do not want to put in a lot of time, money, and work to end up with 1 or 2 flowering plants that give me enough med for a week. I looked at a few different ideas for a grow cab but I am lazy and retarded so I just went to Home Depot and bought a closet and since it cost a 100 bucks my wife says that I am stuck with it and I had better do something with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!8182KSKUSH Reviewed by 8182KSKUSH on . Very Very Small Grow Cab!! Hey all, I have been lurking for a little now. What lights are you planning on using?
I think you're going down the right path.
You should definitely have mothers, as growing from seed, and SCRoGing the plant is a gamble.
(It's a gamble, because if it's male, and you have more plants on the screen, you're going to have to kill it... then have chunks of the screen 'bald'.)
So, IMO, clones is the way to go man.
You're gonna have to make sure your 12/12 side of the cabinet is light proof (100%) from your mothers' lights (18/6?).
If you're going to go hydro in those dimensions, I'd suggest a DIY setup.
Tub, bubblers, lavarocks(/hydroton), ease of fill/drain.,..e tc..
I think it would be best to have the mothers in a soil grow... sort of more 'stable'.
It's do-able.
I sugest you do a search and check out "justaseed" 's grows. Lovely ladies if I'm not mistaken.
He uses soil for his kick-ass grows.
Best regards,

Thanks turtle420, I am going to check him out. I am plan on using a 400 watt mhd for mom and a 400 watt hps for the flowers. It's tricky because finding a hood and light to fit my area is tough. I thought that 400 watts would be more than enough for that small of an area plus in that small of an area I worry about heat a little.

Yeah, instead of worrying about keeping a mother, just cut perpetual clones. This means cutting a couple of clones from a female before moving it into the flowering chamber. You can SCROG and still do this at the same time, as long as you have access to a spot for your container to sit. A mother would likely outgrow your area.
To be honest with you, with a cabinet that small, you could probably grow one plant that fills the entire thing up. Its all about what style you want to use.

I am really leaning towards that exactly. Doing that would also double my flowering area and make it a little more reasonable to grow in. (66") I also have a 66" shelf above the 2 chambers that I will use for clones. I think that if I go in and frame out the cabinet I can get rid of the center divider and open up the whole thing as a flowering chamber. Would the flowers be ready to go necessarily by the time the clones are ready to flower, so I could just keep rotating them?
