A light questionMy grow box is 3' x 4' and I have both a 400w hps and a 1000w MH. I need to know which one would be best to use or should I use the 1000w just for the veg and the 400HPS to bud. or can I just use the 1000w from start to finish? If I get more air flow I may try to use both but that seems like a lot for a box this size. that would put me to almost 120 watts per square foot. THANKS Bender Reviewed by Bender on . A light questionHello,

The first thing that come to my mind as far as the 1000 watter goes, is that it could pose a serious fire hazzard in a small area.

As long as your ventilation is proper and up to snuff, then I would probably go for the 1000 for veg and flower, just watch for heat/fire issues.

 Hope this helps.

 Peace

A light questionIf you have money to spend, but a 1000w hps conersion bulb. They are expensive but make a huge difference in bud production, or buy an agrosun mh bulb, it has more of the light spectrum for flowering

A light questionFire and heat are not that big of a risk. I thought of that before I built this box. Originally Posted by The Student Originally Posted by The Student

A light questionas a rule of thumb MH for veg growth and HPS for flowering is preferable, although you can use either for both flowering and veg.
I have a 250w mh in a cabinet 18"x36"x72" for veg and a 250w hps for flowering also in a cabinet. I can only fit 3 buckets in there so 250 is perfect and I get great yields.

A light questionwell I'm going with the 1000w MH and I am looking into getting a conversion bulb. I think that would be the best way for me to go Originally Posted by HydroDynamics Originally Posted by HydroDynamics

A light questionHey good luck bender, 1000watts should be more than enough. I've never used a conversion bulb, keep us posted on how it works for you.

Hey torog, What part of Texas are you from? I'm a little north up here in god's country Most hydro shops carry the conversion bulbs also. Most hydro shops carry the conversion bulbs also.
