question about cars
what year?
what are you looking for in a car?
speed? style? MPG?
The people that dissed the jetta I'm going to stereo type as liking RICE type cars(civic, Usually either old people or 17 year olds that got a hard on from watching Fast and the Furious ) or big American gas Hogs( big useless trucks or SUVs)
Depending on the year some Jettas have little electrical problems, mainly the power windows(did tons of research b4 I bought mine).I always liked Jettas and ended up getting a 98 TDI recently(always loved the MK3 body style),which gets 50MPG(better than a hybrid) and will Poo on a civic wile blowing black Diesel smoke all over it(with some MODs of course, stock they are pretty weak)The TDIs are retardedly expensive right now due to gas prices.Usually $2,000 or more than its gas counter part.Diesels hold their value due to superior gas mileage, you can run them of waste veggy oil(free fuel anyone?) and much Long engine life, running 300,000-400,000 Miles is very common for a diesel engine,O yea and the Low end Torque
Do a carfax on any car before you buy anything.. research, research, research, know what your buying and driving

*Little* electrical problems? More like MAJOR MAJOR electrical problems. I work on cars as a side job and i've seen nothing but problems from VW's.

The VW TDI is a great choice. All German cars have electrical issues. They use very small diameter wires and use a lot of relays to compensate. You just have to stay up on the electrical issues and make sure the vehicle has no interior leaks.

To be honest, I wouldn't get either. VW parts are very expensive, and aren't the greatest cars in terms of reliability. But I would look into the TDI. The Tiburon is a piece of crap, those Hyundai's are the cheapest made cars in the world. If I were you, I'd consider a Subaru.... very good cars, reliable, and easy to work on. Just my $.02.

question about cars
Different manufacturers can all make cars with about the same quality now. It's up to personal preference and needs today. Go with whichever one you like.
1 word is important for me: Manual
Imo an automatic car is a car without personality.
If you've never driven manual you should try it.

personality is inaccurate....
Manual just makes you feel like you are part of the car. It puts you so much closer to it.

Get a Honda.
Mine almost had 281,000 before it stopped starting (it was my fault anyway, I let the bitch sit for 2 months without starting it.)
Hondas basically last forever.
