Can inhaling THC vapor through your nose cause an insulffation effect?

I'm going to shamelessly bring up this topic again. There is no definitive answer I've seen.

First thing first: This is referring to a vaporizer, not any method that burns the plant as that would be too harsh and possibly cause infections.

Biology is the only thing that matters. The mucus membrane in your nose is the key point. When anything brushes up against them they get absorbed: bacteria, viruses, and THC. It's the same principle in your lungs, except your lungs are more adapted to dealing with the particles in a gas. Your nose isn't designed to do that nearly as well, being an extremity and vulnerable to the elements. Even if it isn't the most efficient way to collect THC, at the very worst it will still increase the intake by a smidgen, though I believe it should be significantly high.

You would also absorb more of the THC, due to the triple filtration process (In through the nose, into the lungs, and out the nose again). The proximity of the nose to the brain would decrease the time it takes to feel it, and the quality would be much more significant.

You might want to sterilize the piece before sucking on it again though.

As for pipe/bong smokers, I wouldn't recommend inhaling through the nose. Your mouth is a lot tougher than your nose. Remember the harshness the first time you hit a bong? The other particles will fuck your nose up, and also possibly contain bacteria that will just directly enter your system.

    Anyone else?

Well, let me throw in my 2 cents, as I've actually tried it:

I vape with a purple days, although I've replaced the power supply with a slightly beefier one so it gives bigger, thicker hits, but which also seem a little hotter and drier. I got curious of the same thing, and on a spur of the moment (i.e. I was high), I just went ahead and did it.

Anyways, IMO it does work in the ~10+ (not sure honestly) times I've tried it, although to what extent I'm not sure. It got me high much quicker, but it wasn't like a whole new world had just opened up or anything.

Be warned though, it dries the inside of your nose out like a mother fucker. Doesn't sound too bad, but nose irritation I got after a hit or two was less than pleasent. Nothing serious, I'm just warning that you might not want to just rip a fat SSV hit up one of your nostrils without trying smaller hits first.

Bottom line: try it. If you have a vaporizer, just put the thing up to your nose and inhale (make sure you clean it really well after), and you decide if it feels any different.

light it up, the way your describing the pd with the higher output plug, sounds like it may be running alot closer to combustion, i would switch back to the standard plug.

i use mine and exhale through my nose regularly with my pd with no adverse effects other then a sneeze every now and then from a slight tickle. i find i get a slight headrush from this.
