Did you heard about astral projection, or OOBE (out of body experiences)? Its a phenomenon where supposedly you "spirit" leaves your body... well... it can happen also with parts of the body... so maybe you were feeling your "spirit arms" instead your flesh arms... it happens sometimes when people gets REALLY stoned... or through training, meditation, and etc.
