Have any of you simply thought of walking off?

Hell yeah, every summer I take a walking trip from Baltimore to the beach... 200 miles, and I get to sleep on the beach (if I'm not caught by the cops). We camp out on the fringes of farmer's fields, and it's a GREAT bonding experience. Not to mention good exercise.

Yoda and thcbongman, you're MORE than welcome to join this year in August

It's not just a guy's thing! Us ladies like nature, too!

    haha hippies.

i for one like noise and the constant barrage of entertainment right at my fingertips of opening a door.

and skateparks and going places. what the fuck is there to do looking at a bunch of trees. sure its peaceful but i would lose my freaking mind doing the same crap everyday.

I think about it all the time but I woul miss human interactment to much. But if we could start a collony of stoners with no technology in the woods and build our own shelters and grow/hunt our own food that would be all time!

Boys dont usually last too long in the wild without the luxuries of modern life. Grown men and women who have experience and knowledge have a bit of an easier time.

I too would like to do that someday. Just get a big knife, maybe pack some supplies, maybe not. Walk out into the middle of some huge forest or nature preserve. Learn how to survive. Then mabye build a shelter or something. Personally, i would like to first clear some land and build a log cabin. Then id stock it with some supplies and i'd hunt and grow my own food, not to mention my own weed. Being that far away from society, you really wouldn't have to worry about cops. You could do literally whatever you want to without fear. Plus it would be so peaceful, living out in nature. No TV, no radio. Just a guitar or other acoustic intrument. Spending the days outside tending the vegetable garden/farm.

There's actually this place in northern MO called Dancing Rabbit eco-village. Its like this self-sufficient commune where people grow all their own food and make the buildings out of what's around them. They do have a car and they use biodiesel to power it. I would like to live in a place like that. As long as they let me grow all the cheeba i wanted to. Ahh, fantasies...
You are reading my signature! I will soon add things here.

Nature's beauty utterly dwarfs any potential structure of man.

    Trees > Skyscrapers.

I view humanity as a virus, simply leeching the life out of something so beautiful so that it can survive.

I spent 8 years in Alaska, and went out for weeks at a time in -30 degree weather with nothing but some kind of warm clothes, a knife and a couple matches. I had a blast every time, and hated coming back.
very well said...usually at least once a year I take off into the woods here (abundant source of woods around where I live) and just stay gone as long as I fancy, I usually take some string, a lighter, knife and hatchet...I have never in my life been -30 degree weather, or even close to it...not sure how I'd handle the northern outdoors, haha.

hehe well you get used to it. You try to dress as appropriately as you can, and you also learn alot of heat retention techniques.
