Experimental electronica

So I was chilling with a buddy of mine the other day, right? We head over to his friends house that I haven't met, sit down and rip the bong a few times with the guys at the house. One of them starts playing this amazing music. Music like nothing I've ever heard. I fell in love instantly. (with the music )

The artist's name is Bassnectar. I love really chill rock and good rap, but this experimental hip hop electronica blew my mind! Not just the songs, but the whole set up they have at the house. I'm talking a badass Mac desktop wired up to a couple turntables, mixer, stereo, amps, guitars, bass guitars, drums. The whole 9 yards. I want this!

Anyway, back to the point. Do any of you guys listen to this form of electronica? I want to find more artists like this but I'm having a hard time. Can someone lead me in the right direction?

p.s. Do any of you DJ? A couple years ago I looked into buying a DJ setup for a hobby but I decided the price wasn't worth it. Now that I've found this new form of music, my music drive has been pushed off the edge. I feel like I have to learn more about music again. I have so many urges to pick up the guitar and other instruments and start learning, but is it worth it? I have 2 guitars, but turntables are so very expensive. Keep in mind, I haven't played any musical instrument in years. I've forgotten everything so picking it up now would mean starting over.

too late to edit but idk if the ones i listed are exactly what your looking for i havent listened to too much bassnectar honestly so it might not really be the same category your looking for but its good electronic shit none the less
