Yeah, I used to use Homemade bongs but I thought they just didnt work all that well...so today I got a real bong, not too big not too small and lemme tell you it works wonders. I cant feel the smoke go down my throat then I was like ''Humm thats not normal'' n then I just blew a tone of smoke out I was like ''Wow, my homemade one was horrible compared to this''. But of course I mean it depends on the quality...a sobe bong would probably work better then a half-ass 1 liter bottle bong. I personally would buy one...you can get some pretty cheap small ones like I got. (Cost me 15$) I would say to try both n then decide.

ya those nice ass glass on glass bongs with diffusers percolaters and all that shit on it they cost like 300$ maybe more but they are worth it

The idea that expensive bongs are better is IMO just a way to get you to spend your money.
The best ones I have ever had were all made from allsorts of things and believe me there have been some wicked and bizarre ones.

I own some store bought bongs but I believe half the fun is in construction , it's added pleasure when they work first time without leaking ..

Place one melon in the freezer for around 15 to 20 minutes, don't forget it's there because it's a bastard to cut when it's frozen solid.

Cut off the top and hollow out the melon, watch your fingers with that knife. LOL

Using a stem pipe make two holes in the top.

Sieve the inside of the melon to get rid of the seeds add a little water and half fill the hollowed out melon , add some ice cubes too..

Push your stem pipes through the holes in the lid making sure one goes into the water and the other doesn't.

Make a third small hole in the lid (this will be your draw hole.

Place the lid on the melon, fill the bowl and get tokin'

Believe me you could spend a thousand pounds on a shop bong and it wouldn't be better , I've always been of the opinion that says"Why spend X amount of money on it if I don't need it and I can make just as good myself".

Companies realised years ago that ganja may be illegal but the paraphemalia isn't so they created the whole idea that they have the absolute cream of "smoking devices".

I've been around a while and seen a lot and of course the people selling this stuff aren't going to say it's a good as you can make are they ?.... and don't forget someone who buys an expensive bong is rarely going to want to admit "Well it was a waste of money man, I shoulda bought green" are they ?
