    Mylar Or Flat White Paint?

I'm a novice at the moment and will be attempting my first grow(hydroponically). My question is, using the DWC method, which of the two(mylar/flat white paint)is the best way to go in regards to maximum yields?

    Many thanks.

technically, Mylar reflects more light than flat-white paint ... something like 95%, compared to 88%, for whatever those figures are worth ... regardless, I recently discovered my two-year old expensive Mylar reflects very little, much less than the white paint ... seems the Mylar dulls over time, especially if you try to keep it clean (windex, etc) ... my next cabinet will definitely be flat-white paint, its so easy to just throw on another coat between crops, while the Mylar looks more and more dull, every day ... save your money, PAINT ...

Flat-white paint is definitely the best of the two. Mylar gets dirty quickly and loses its reflectivity when dirty. As already said, it also loses its reflectivity as you clean it. Flat-white paint does not need to be cleaned except once in a blue moon and cleans up very easily.

As a recommendation though, use panda film! The stuff is extremely durable, highly reflective, waterproof, etc. etc. It is black one side, white on the other (hence the clever name), and is great for keeping light in where you want it and light out where you don't.

Don't use either. Use Elastomeric white roofing paint. It's roughly 90% plus reflective. IT's mold proof, water proof, and flexible. Go to your local home and garden store such as a Lowe's or HomeDepot. Elastomeric white paint is the best of both worlds.
