Hermie question?
If a hermie is a plant that grows seeds and bud, then I got some. Not sure what to do with it. Its not letting off polen or will it? I have females that are growing the way they should and I have three that are hermies. The females are definately not sprouting seeds.
So the question is do I cut off all the seed sites or do I let them grow and keep the seeds in the end. I really wouldn't mind keeping the seeds to plant them to find which one would give me pure female. This sativa is bad ass fast flowering. The mom of the clones has no seed sites so I really don't understand yet.
Any recommendations of what I should do?SCIENTIXT Reviewed by SCIENTIXT on . Hermie question? If a hermie is a plant that grows seeds and bud, then I got some. Not sure what to do with it. Hermie question?
Seeds and bud is not necessarily a hermie, but a pollinated female.
Find the source of the pollen to find your male flowers... if the female has male flowers, she's a herm. If not, she got knocked up by someone else.

Hermie question?
Thanks for the replies.
A couple of pics to help judge. They were flowering as normal and only showing pistils. Then I noticed a slowing in budding and now I see seeds. Only the sativas have seeds. The indicas are flowering as normal. The mom of the sativas did show balls but all were cut off and the mom has no seeds growing, only bud. (see pic 1 tallest cola) Pic three is of the indica mom that has no seeds either. My fan blows air around so I really don't think that it was a male plant that dropped pollen. I think it is just the genetics maybe. If so does anyone know if it would be possible to get a female seed from this plant?
Pic 4 is a indica female that is flowering normal.

Hermie question?
Well I hate to say it but you missed some balls. You got a hermaphrodite.
I think the cause of the herms may have been heat stress judgin gby how those plants look- long internodes, fluffy small buds, some misshappen leaves.
What are your temps, %RH, and pot size? (think ya might be rootbound too)

Hermie question?
hey stinky, wots the go with root bound plants can it cause stress and hermies? mine are looking fine and into 8th day of budding but i no they are root bound should i put them into larger pots to stop problems down the track?

Hermie question?
Yup, a root bound plant will experience stress under better conditions than a plant with more space for roots. This is because the amount of soil compared to the mass of the plant makes soil chemistry really hard to predict and stabilize. You'll see burns, lockouts, and pH problems that you woulnd't in a properly-potted pot plant...
