I have heard that stress such as low temperatures or transplanting incorrectly can make a plant turn male or hermy, but I don't know this for a fact, it's never happened to me.
The temperature definately has an effect on growth. Plants need the correct temperatutre to be able to photosynthesise properly. If low temperature is coupled with dampness/high humidity or poor air circulation/ventilation the plants will rot.
Buds are especially vunerable to rot.
My gowroom has an average temperature of about 75°F, it drops to about 65 at night when the lights are off, and rises to a maximum of about 82 in summer.
