    At home test control line

I took a piss test at a private company a couple days ago. They collected the sample in-house and then shipped it to a lab for testing. Based on reading several threads on this site, I am confident that my urine was clean because I took an at home screening test immediately before going to take the test. It was one of those dipstick type tests that I got from the local pharmacy for about $15. Both the test line and the control line were sufficiently visible.

I will not know the results until Tuesday at the earliest and I have a lot of anxiety about whether the results will indicate that the sample was diluted. Also, I really wanted to smoke before then, but so far I have abstained for fear that I might have to give another sample if the original test was diluted.

What does the control line test for? Is it the same as an integrity check? Does a solid control line mean that my Creatinine level and SG were adequate?

Do they normally check for both Creatinine and SG? Or do they check for Creatinine first and then check for SG only if the Creatinine level is low? I am a little more confident about my Creatinine levels than my SG because I took some Creatine powder 24-48 hours before the test. But I drank a lot more water than Gatorade and I didnā??t take any Rolaids or add salt.

The control line helps to check the integrity of the test. If the control line doesn't show up, the test has gone bad. This isn't to say that if the control line shows up the test is perfect. It can be faulty with a control line but that is very rare. If the control line doesn't show up though it is definitely bad.

They always check specific gravity and most if not all drug tests now check creatinine clearance.
