Does this look like a good package?
I'm looking at this as a first grow setup for a 2.2ftx4ftx5ft area.
I would like to ask you that have experience if this bulb, ballast, and cord are of good quality.

LOL - We all are at times. The trick is to keep it out of the public eye.

Don't love the Lumatek ballasts- the digi boards run pretty damn cool anyway, why have a fan blow into the enclosure if yer not throwing heat? Just asking for shit to get blown in. Seal it up in a nice moisture-tight hunk of epoxy, and cool it with fins.
I guess that I don't like moving parts if I don't need 'em.
Anecdotal reports of trouble firing some halide bulbs- think that was more the K's, though.
Lot's of folks love em' though- certainly, except for my ( possibly irrational) thing about moving parts, a nice little ballast.
Hort 400hps/en is a great little bulb- industry standard.
Can't speak for the cordset- that could be anything.
Should point out that the pricing on that's not that great, once the stuff ships. You should see if a local supplier would be willing to match the sale price plus shipping- you might be able to just pick it up, as opposed to a bunch of differant companies having a shipping address on file.

The Lumatek digi 400w costs $150, so you would be paying $100 for a cord, socket and bulb. That seems a little on the high side. I recently bought a 400 watt GroLux, which is probably a better bulb than the Hortilux, for $50.
I recently got a 1000w ballast, Hortilux Eye bulb, all cords AND a cool tube for $400. They had 400 watt packages too, I just don't remember the price for the 400's. I printed the info on the internet package deal, took it to my local hydro guy and he matched the price, before shipping.
Any hooo, I don't much care for Ebay. They want way too much to be part of my life instead of just a place I shop sometimes. Then, by the time you get done with the all-intrusive PayPal, they know way more about me than some stinkin' merchant needs to know.
