Did you see the pictures that Greenjeans posted?
There should be a couple threads about this in basic growing or indoor as well.

I would like to see your bubble cloner. In my cloner my clones just hand above the water and get misted by the bursting bubbles i dont really need a medium but i would like to try the RR's in to the cloner just to see if it would help with transplanting. When i usually transplant the clones i usually get some shock and they dont grow for almost a week. I'd like to eliminate this and i think the RR's could help. I'm sure it would be alot easier then trying to force a nice sized root mass into a little hole made in the soil.

I can't see how you could use a RR in an aerocloner. It would just fall off the cutting's stem, and totally defeat the function of the aerocloner.

I've made quit a few clones and, as a rule, they do tend to seem like they aren't growing for the first week or so after they are planted. I don't think it's shock - I think the plant is putting all its energy into growing roots.

I never get transplant shock - never, ever! Just last night I transplanted six plants right before I went to bed. This morning the plants look like they are loving life in their new pots. There's not even a hint of stress; in fact, just the opposite. I let the plants get a little root bound before I transplant them and they perk up as soon as they are in a bigger pot.

I can't imagine why you would be "...trying to force a nice sized root mass into a little hole made in the soil." Make a bigger hole and gently put your soil around the roots.

I was scratching my head when I read that too, PC. Really wondering how a RR plug would work in the aerocloner. I don't have a problem using plugs putting them in nursery 9-packs, so I'm just puzzled how the bubbler would help at all when the plug is doing the job of keeping it moist.

How ya do it reaper?

regarding the bubble-cloner questions here's pics of mine ... I pretty much copied Opie Yutts's design, that he posted awhile back ... it's great ... pretty much 100% success with clones, and seeds start remarkably in those Rapid-Rooter plugs  ...
the ratty-looking things in the photo are an experiment ... a buddy harvested a G13 x Haze 2-3 weeks ago, and still had a couple nasty twigs left on the stripped, basically dead trunk ... he says he has managed to clone these dying leftovers, before ... he's an outstanding outdoor grower, he know his shit ... I just can't believe it, so I gotta give it a try :wtf: ... put them in the bubble-cloner 4 days ago, and they still look the same, but no droop, etc ... gonna take a miracle to root these, I think ... I see my plugs are too wet, I need to lower my water level ...

I gotcha, basically you are passively keeping the RRs moist without having to manually moistem them every 36 hours or so. Nice!

yup ... once you put the cuttings in the dampened rapidrooter plugs, one drop SuperThrive per gallon of water, to promote rooting ... I just use chlorinated tapwater, as it may help prevent fungus from forming ... you just switch on the aquarium heater, airpump, and light ... walk away, come back in 6-8 days, they're ready for transplanting ... Opie Yutts deserves a big round of applause for his 'bubble-cloner' ... also, it is just as easy for starting seeds ... no need to pre-soak, just drop them in the plugs, and stick a little piece of the plug over the opening ... come back in 2-3 days to sprouting leaves ... easy is good

I definitely am going to be building one of these soon. Did you just shop around until you found a rubbermaid type of thing that fit the humidity dome properly?

Has that method worked for you before Image Reaper?!

This is how i set up my cloner and its work really well. The pic of the first clone closer to the edge has only been in the cloner for 5 days and is showing roots. I suspect another 2 or 3 days max for the others to begin rooting.

I would like to compare how fast your clones root that way because i'd love to find a use for my rapid rooters. I still have like 30 RR's left and havent been using them at all, seems like a nice way to make waste of the last few.
