30X Jeweler's loupe?
I wonder if anyone has ever used one of these things for checking their trichs? I have one of those 60X-100X pocket microscopes from Radio Shack, and have used it, but it's such a pain-in-the -ass to use, and takes forever to use it right. I was able to focus it enough using it while the buds were still on the plant but it would have been better to cut off little samples. I'm thinking one of those 30X jewelers loupes might work without cutting your plant. And I'd just as soon not cut the plant at all.

i just told another person in a different thread this, but if you have a digital camera there is a great way to check trichomes. just get a magnifying glass and place it in front of the camera lens and it will magnify your pictures enough to see the trichomes. combined with the zoom of a digital camera a magnifying lens will show you everything you need to see. good luck

30x works fine. Easy to use, easy to get a good look at the trics.
I also have a 60x-100x and find it hard to have a good look with it. Hard to focus and hold in focus.

I stole my mom's loupe for the same reason. I have a hand held microscope as well, but my hands shake like crazy, and the view port is so tiny. I like the loupe better. But now she wants it back, so I guess I need to buy my own.

Great, thanks. Ebay has 'em cheap. Like delivered and all for less than $10 (if you search a little).
