I've never done anything to deserve reprimand or a ban, so I wouldn't know how a mod would handle a particular ban... jagarr had an excellent point about how mods would probably be less likely to ban a member with 5,000 constructive posts than a very new member with an infraction. That brings the point up though, that perhaps a more seasoned member should 'know better' than a new person who, for example, brings up an illicit drug discussion? I suppose it's how far a member, old or new, would take the subject at hand; if they carried on about it or not.

I suppose maybe someone with a history of excessive bans would also tend to shed a negative vibe for each successive ban... I don't think there's a particular a+b=c formula mods use to govern the forums; it wouldn't be practical.
