    Criticism of mods

I'm one of the ones who'd contribute to it and comment. I can think of a couple of others who'd be more likely to delete it! We'll see if it survives. I don't see any harm in it, really, because it's not a mod-slamming thread. It strikes me that our reaction to it is in itself a commentary on our mod styles.

    Criticism of mods

I've never done anything to deserve reprimand or a ban, so I wouldn't know how a mod would handle a particular ban... jagarr had an excellent point about how mods would probably be less likely to ban a member with 5,000 constructive posts than a very new member with an infraction. That brings the point up though, that perhaps a more seasoned member should 'know better' than a new person who, for example, brings up an illicit drug discussion? I suppose it's how far a member, old or new, would take the subject at hand; if they carried on about it or not.

I suppose maybe someone with a history of excessive bans would also tend to shed a negative vibe for each successive ban... I don't think there's a particular a+b=c formula mods use to govern the forums; it wouldn't be practical.

    Criticism of mods

before being raised to their lofty status (and all the life altering surgical enhancement it entails), our mods were quasi-normal human beings just like the rest of us. from time to time a wee bit of that base humanity shows through and their ultimate power over life and death is abused a little. what more can be expected. these are not gods, merely godlike humans.

How do people of this board actually become mods, or have become them?

I got no beef with the mods on ere Ive had an infraction b4 but i asked for it tryin to post rude shit.. Bird girl was tactful abt it and even pm me to explain my infraction. So i think weve got a good group of mods here and we gotta have em so the site doesnt get taken over by abusive and crude people. All I can say to the mods is...good job guys u run a wicked site.

This is the first fourm I have come to regularly. I like a lot of the people, and mods. i have no problem with the mods here I just have a problem with how some of them treat members. They like to speak down to us alot. Not gonna name any names though.

idk it depends which one some of the mods here are real cool but i get that vibe off some of them that if you were to say something about them or something they dont agree wth personally they get all pissy and might be quick to ban you

in my experience, they are extremely fair. if you get banned you deserved it. i called out a mod once, not exactly in a public way....and he or she called me on it, i said what i had to say, and that was the end of it. he or she could probably have banned me because of it, and if he or she would have, then i would sing a different tune...but maybe i was wrong in my assumption...maybe not. either way i questioned their style and nothing happened. this is a website and only that...dont let it be anything other.
