i know it sounds strange but i heard that plants appeciate classical music , like the music contributes to an even faster growth and develpment...is that true? if so do you recommend anything in particular?

I do not know any results from lab experiments or anything, but I think that it helps. I have left music on for my plants in the past.

I do not know about classical in particular. I always just left DMB playing.

In general, any kind of music, or talking, DOES increase a plants Vigor and Growth and maybe even helps it prevent illness, as for what kind of music depends on you. Personally, my plant listens to Pink Floyd, sometimes SoaD and occasionally sublime.

Supposedly heavy metal is the most effective for promoting growth and vitality.

But I'm a dirty hippie and I think plants have feelings, so I make sure my plant doesn't feel screaming all the time (they sense the vibrations music make, they don't 'listen' to it).

Also, you might want to try some cheap Co2 with it. Just a 80%water 20% sugar mixture and yeast - and Co2 is HEAVIER then air, so make sure it's raised above or level with the plant.

I was watching myth busters on discovery one day and they set up a plant and music exsperiemnt, some plants were yelled at by people in a negative way lol,other plants were told how beutiful they were,note plants weren't able to feed of the co2 from their breath,they did it in isolated chambers,some plants had soft music played,and other had hardcore pantera,style music played,belkieve it or not when all results were talleyed up,the plants with the hardcore music super passed all of them? they couldn't explain why,the plants wit6h soft music grew as usual,and the plants talked to positvely/negatively were the same the plant on it's own with no sound grew the same as the ones being talked too,but the hardcore music plants grew super big over the rest,I was really surprised......so go out and buy a slayer tape/or pantera cd and head bang to some big buds lol.........but I say just talk to your plants or simply breath around them,the co2 will be atleast appreciated a little lol.....

I watched that special on Myth Busters with the experiment that determined whether or not the plants were affected by the presence or lack of music. The ones without the music looked weak and the ones that listened to heavy metal thrived. They were too lazy though and used a drip system that ended up either dripping too much or not dripping at all for any of the grows and the plants were withering when they came to look at the different grows. That show is pretty cool.
