Now that ive hopefully got ur attention i just a few quick questons and im ready to start my attic grow.

1. [U]Seed starter mix: I was told to use a plain soil/perlite mix. does this mean multipurpose compost/perlite or just plain topsoil/perlite? im a complete noob at this so sorry if these questions sound stupid.

Also about the wiring of the light; im assumiing the power to my garage is running on a/c because there is one mains cable coming into the garage directly connected to a double socket.Attached to the double socket are 2 cables leading into the attic (for the ceiling flrs). im assuming that one of these is connecting the ceiling flrs to each other and the other is returning the current to the mains. so if i turned off the mains, spliced the wire in between the 2 ceiling flrs and connected a socket, would i be in business?

And with the venting, im gonna hook up an inline fan and flexihose leading to the soffit vent to extract the air. as far as air intake goes, would u suggest buying another fan for this (funds are running low at the mo) or is there cheaper method ie. CO2 tablets etc.

Don't do this. You have 2 choices:
-Run a HEAVY extension cord to power your lights
-Call a LICENSED ELECTRICIAN to wire you a nice safe grow.

If you burn your house down by growing pot on an unsafe circuit your insurance will not cover it!!!

Ye im not going to do anything rash unless im 100% sure its safe.i was running an extension lead from the downstairs socket up through the platerboard but i dont want the family seeing this. wot do u mean by a 'heavy extn lead' i was using a normal extendable roll up one. if i call in a sparks, chances are he's gonna know its a growrrom (its already set up apart from a few minor things). i have a friend who studied mechatronic engineering so maybe he'll know what to do.

what do u think of my oscillating fan-flexihose idea for intake?

hell no they dont know so it has to be stealthy. they're ok about me smokin weed but i dont know the reaction if they saw my mini-jungle up there. im very good at persuading peoples opinions on the whole cannabis issue so its no biggie. the main issue theyd have with it would be increase in opwer bill, by the way will there be a major increase in this? Its a garage attic by the way, rarely used b anyone but myself

You are risking your family's security and they don't even know about it. That's not right.
If your gift of persuasion is as good as you claim, and if the power bill is truly the only issue, you should be able to say, "Here's 30 pounds a month to pay for electricity, I'd like to grow weed in the garage."
But you know what the answer will be i suspect....

Risking their security?? whats gonna happen, the cops are gonna bust down the front door and start firing?? i know the cannabis laws in America are harsh but over here our laws are based on logic and democracy rather than prejudice, corruption and dictatorship. For example, my friend recently got caught growing 4 plants in a cupboard, for a stupid reason entirely his own fault. he got brought in questioned and charged on 3 counts. The file was sent to the DPP ( director of public prosecutions in case you dont know what that means). The law on cultivation is: if the case is not dealt with within six months, its thrown out. if the case is dealt with and the person has no previous convictions, they will be charged and at most get a fine or 1month. I have considered every possiblity of getting caught and taken the neccesary precautions. If i ask if i can grow, ill be told no. if the grow room is discovered by my family, ill explain that rather than lining the pockets of criminal gangs by purchasing low grade mixed cannabis, i can grow my own high quality crop for my personal use with no real risk of detection. and ireland is in europe in case u werent aware. the currency is euro not pounds.

You're obviously going to do whatever you feel like anyway, regardless of the wishes of the homeowner, so enjoy yourself...

You trick people into reading your thread ("The Best Grow Setup You'll Ever See"...or whatever), which is quite generic in the first place, and self-explanatory - and could have EASILY been answered by just taking a few minutes to read through the forums...

...then you go on to insult the only person nice enough to take the time out of her day to respond to your deceitful inquisition, and insult her country on top of it. That's pretty low. If you're so self-assured, why even bother carrying on the conversation past the initial response? You asked for advice. You got it. Then you bitched about it. Get over it.

Also, Ireland considers marijuana a Schedule 1 drug. Meaning (and I'm sure you are already aware of this) that it is considered to be highly inclined to lead the user to abuse the substance, and that it has absolutely no medicinal value whatsoever. Pretty similar to the archaic laws enacted by another "corrupt and prejudiced dictatorship", whose name I'll decline to mention. Don't you also have warring political parties (Unionists & Nationalists), who are constantly vowing for more control of the country? That almost sounds similar to the Republican & Democrats here in the United States. Funny, isn't it?

Now, climb down off that high horse, and learn to respect the views of others here on this forum...regardless of whether or not you agree with the opinions given. It's called "common courtesy" and is something that seemed to be rather scarce every time I payed a visit to Europe.
