SO me and my hubby baught this tight new simple glass bong. Honestly I always thought I was set with the basic things I knew about smoking but since being on this site I've seen a few things I have to ask about since Im curious about buying them.

First question. To grind or not to grind. We always just broke it up with our fingers, didn't even know about grinders till I came here. So what are the advantages and disadvantages, is it just for pipes and bongs or for spliffs too?

2nd question. The site we got our boxed bong from mentioned little glass beads you could put into the bowl of the bong, I though since bongs already had the water didn't really need to worry about catching ash. Whats it for and is it worth it?

3rd Been looking over lots of papers and different ways to roll and filters. I saw cone rolling and it looked intresting to learn how any suggestions? Also I like filters but I always worry it takes away from the smoke somehow, am I right to think so? And I hear hemp is the best, is that true and is it just as easy to roll hemp papers as normal papers?

Lastly, Im also gettng a pipe, Im not usualy a pipe smoker so just some advice and tips to make it a smoother hit? Its usualy a bit harsh for me, give a girl some love and give some tips on having a smoother smoke.
