Stem turning black
[attachment=o162031]
Here is the main spot of the black
[attachment=o162032]
and another
[attachment=o162033]
Sorry this is a clear picture but you can still see the darkness
I was able to scrape off the blackness from the stem and it came off so I don't know what to think about it. I didn't want to scrape away all of the stem and open it up for any infections.... I have some other pictures from farther awayKL4D4 Reviewed by KL4D4 on . Stem turning black My outside plant has a section on it where the stem is turning a dark color. One of the side branches had the same dis-coloration on it and started to die. Is this possibly a sign of mold? I don't have any pictures sadly, but it goes from a nice green, to a section of darkness.... any ideas are appreciated, thanks! Rating: 5

I don't know, that black looks like what I would expect to find on a dead plant that has been sitting outdoors for awhile. On the other hand the purple stems are a sign of nutrient deficiancy or surplus.

I've never heard of foliar spraying milk.....think I'd want a pretty good explanation of why that would work before I did it to my plants.
KL.....can you find a good organic fungicide and just apply it to the stem where the black part is? Don't spray the buds with it....just the stem.

Well I figure it'd be easier to just link you guys... http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/...ml#post1689635

If you expand this picture with your cursor you can see the main upper part of the stalk. I might have some other pics I can find here in the mean time. In fact you can see the dying branch which was "infected" as well.
I just figured that the red stems either meant it wanted some more phosphorus or the cold temps. I do live in Minnesota aver age temps get around 40 at night if not lower we had some frost 2 weeks ago... twice but its still going. I put the new pics up it certainly isn't dead yet.
Some of the side shots that had the black on them certainly look as if they had died. They buds and leaves were starting to dry already, still smelled really good.

Stem turning black
OK, this has been freaking me out. Does nobody have any help for this poor bloke? The only other time I see this is in fall or winter, on plants that have been dead for a few weeks, and only after the rainy season has started. On the thousands of plants around here that I see it on, it looks just like some kind of fungus, mold or rot. If I only see it on dead plants, how can KL4D4's plants be infested so badly with it. It just can't be the same thing. Somebody please help ease my troubled mind.

I still have branches that are alive out there on the plant.. the stem randomly went bad, some sort of infection or something?

i dont really know what to tell you man, but i would suggest harvesting early before that stuff gets too bad and ruins your entire plant. Better to have harvested early and have some bud rather then trying to play this thing out to the end and end up having no bud. I usually air on the side of caution though.
