This is how we treat today's Einsteins..
its really interesting that you posted this and its nice to have something of intelect on the site now and again
i remember that i read a few articles about him a while ago and his accusations of the government stealing his laboratory and his anti grave scam.
the guy is obviosuly very clever in certain aspects, but distinctly lacking in others.
i think that although he talks about 'freedom' and 'selling out' he can't see past himself. he has no freedom as his work and study relies completely on benefactors. he is contained within his own labatory and likely his own mind because he sees getting a job as selling out. yet, in my opinion, he has sold himself out by working for himself.

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us "universe," limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons close to us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from our prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all humanity and the whole of nature in its beauty."
and by working the way he does he completely negates the wider world and he effects his 'genius' could have on it.
its a shame, that such a brilliant man could be so limited by himself
