If you do a google search you should be able to find Michelle Rainey's website.I saw a clip of her on Urban Grower and she has crones and uses a specific strain to relieve her symptoms,I dont remember it off hand but I think it was an Afgani.Check out Granny's post on this thread,Ive looked up the links she had to MS and weed,pretty outstanding stuff.Good luck man,a dear friend of mine has crones and Ill try to get some info from him that I can pass along,good luck and take care brother.

^Afghani Bullrider, a strain I have yet to try out myself, never seen a co-op even offer it, but when one does, I'll have to try it out!

Definitely interesting for any Crohn's patients, she is also part of the BC3 the US DEA is trying to extradite for "drug trafficking", which really all she is accused of is selling seeds over the internet, hardly a crime worth going to prison for life for!

When my friend and i had made blueberry muffins with vapeover, with the pillsburry or whichever didn't need much milk. After i ate those I felt a lot better, for a few weeks.

Sadly I can't move. I'm only 18 I'm in college for 2 1/2 years if I could move I would. But as soon as I'm out of this shithole I'm moving to CO.

I was diagnosed with crohn's 10 years ago and have not had any surgery. It is my goal to avoid any surgery because I'd rather eat a bullet than shit in a bag.


After being diagnosed, for the first 2-3 years I was on prednisone, mesalazine, and budesonide. In addition to this, I was a daily smoker. At the time, I wasn't using pot as medicine, I was just a fella who liked to get high everyday. The combination of the 3 drugs eventually got my crohn's into remission. Then about 4 years ago, it started to flare up again. I noticed that the cramps/pains would be much worse during the day, then once I would get home from work and smoke a joint, all pains would virtually disappear. If I were suddenly feeling a cramp, and I took a hit from the bong, the pain would go away. I asked my doctor if he knew anything about marijuana being beneficial for Crohn's and he laughed at me. He sent me home with prescriptions for the same 3 drugs as before.
The problem was, I didn't have the money to afford the prescriptions, and so I was forced to go without. (Wonderful Canadian medicare system, the doctor will see you for free, but the pills cost a fortune) At this time, I decided I was finished with my doctor. I knew that pot was helping with the pain, and he thought I was joking or something.
I started doing some reading online about crohn's and I've managed to keep it under control on my own since then. At the moment I'm using a combination of Pot, Colostrum, and occasional breaks from solid foods.
I should note that I'm not recommending self treatment for everyone, if my pain gets bad enough, I'm sure I'll eventually go back crying to the doctor.

I sympathize with your struggle at how your doctor is handling the issue, I'm not really familiar with Canadian health care, but can't you get a different doctor? My doctor really pissed me off when I simply asked him about medical marijuana for Crohn's at a visit I made after getting a severe bad reaction to Prednisone. He told me he had never heard anything, but said he would study it and like a naive patient I trusted him. Well, next appointment I wanted to find out what he researched, and not only did he not do any research, but he didn't even read Prop 215, which is really the first thing any reasonable doctor should have read first! I don't know who he talked to, but it was clear he didn't even do a simple google search for Crohn's disease and marijuana. I haven't seen him since, but I do need to see a new doctor, I just need to find one that isn't so close minded. Either way I went to a pot doctor to get legal, but I really see no purpose of seeing a doctor that won't even recognize marijuana's medical benefits for Crohn's patients.

I live in dorms So i can't really grow in my dorm room. My closet is literally a hole in the wall and I'm in a room that's 8 x 8 witha twin size bed and a desk in there. not very roomy lol.

When I was first diagnosed about 3 months later i had told my doctor that i was smoking and could see a significant change that it was helping and he said that some of his patients had told him that it helps but since legally he coudln't prescribe it or recommend it he gave me more meds to take that I never took but my parents filled anyways because they wanted to pay for pills that i wasn't going to take. I was on prednisone, asacol. I haven't had any flareups within these past couple of years which is good, I do take remmicade transfusions if i start feeling bad. I haven't had one of those in about 10 weeks or more and I still feel really healthy but since I haven't been smoking as much I'm afraid it's going to start coming back .

Do you guys think if I was driving around out in on like a back highway and a cop pulled me over for smoking. I could tell him that I have crohn's and just explain to him what I know and why I'm doing what I'm doing. Do you think they would let me off with like a warning, or they not care and arrest me anyways?

Driving under the influence is always illegal, regardless if you have a legal right to use marijuana. Do you really think a cop is going to allow you to endanger other drivers on the road simply because you have some disease? I've read stories of people getting speed tickets for speeding on the way to the emergency room, so I'm sure no cop will let you go, unless he was planning to let you go anyway.
