i know there are different guanos, one for flowering and one for veg. i have only used the flowering type. you can topdress with it, it works the best if you scratch up the surface with a fork or something then apply, and try to stir it in a little with the fork again. it keeps the fan from blowing the powder around and spreads it more evenly. the directions should be on the bag, mine was something like a tablespoon full for a 10 in" pot per month. i added a little extra because i didnt want to have to do it again.

I also only use guano for flowering, but I generally make a dilute "tea" by mixing it with hot water, letting it cool, and watering with it. I tend to use fish emulsion and blood meal exclusively during veg (and synthetic chemicals if I notice a deficiency). I fertilize by making a similar tea, and have been very successful in the past. So, instead of adding it to the top layer of soil, why not just dilute it with water and feed as normal?

i wish that was all i needed, i added a little something for nitrogen during flowereing. it honestly did good by itself, but i would add a little more, because it didnt last as long as it should. worm castings are great in my book but it even needed a little phospherous towards the end of flowering. molasses are good too if you dont over do them. i had the guano and worm castings the first time, now i have fish juice too. im not sure what they will do. i would like a little potassium naturally, any suggestions?
