powdery mildew on bubba/master kush plants
Hi All,
I have read up on my problem and have determined it to be powdery mold. At first I thought I had gotten dust on the plant, but now that it is on newer leaves I had to rule that out.
So...I clipped off the most affected leaves this morning and increased ventilation in my vegging room. I had the fan going off with the lights as I have them on 20/4, it will stay on now.
I made the area larger to avoid crowding. I only have a white widow and a Grandaddy purple in there with the two kush hybrids, but they were touching. There are no signs of mold on the other two.
The temps are around 75-84 degrees during the day, and around 65-75 when the lights are off for the four hours.
The medium is soil and perlite. Neither under or over-watered. The humidity is never above 40% if that, so I know that is not the problem.
I forgot to add that they are under a 400 watt M.H. They are around 16-18 inches tall and are otherwise healthy. Only one of the two has slowed in growth rate. I hope I didn't miss any details.
Basically what I was wondering is...are these plants going to make the other two sick? Will this go away with the proper measures? Or would I be better off getting rid of them, or maybe sticking them separately under a 400 watt hps and get them budding and then get rid of them? The last choice would suck as that would mean another flowering room! Has anybody had any luck with the baking soda spray? Any advise will be very appreciated, especially if it will affect the other girls.
Sorry to repeat this topic, but others questions on this problem have been different in enough ways to matter. Thank you again in advance! Everything was going so well...
Last time it was spider mites!

W3 here is what I use for that....or more truthfully for prevention of that once a week.
Serenade Disease Control - Spray | Pest Control I've had very good success with it. Follow the directions carefully and make sure to raise your lights up for a good day or two after use. I didn't once and really fried the top buds of my plants.
good luck.

W3 - The MxB's get powdery mildew long before the WW's & GdP's - I haven't got a clue why. :wtf: However, they seem to recover quickly, so get the Serenade on them ASAP.
The mothers are treated regularly with sulpher vapor, so whatever powdery mildew you got is recent.
Make sure to top the Widows AND fim all the side growth. You will really be glad you did. Also, the GdP grows slower than the other two strains, but will stretch like crazy to keep up with them. So, if necessary, put your GdP's up on a little stand to keep the tops even with the other plants. With the MxB's, top them once too.
...at least, that's what I heard from a friend of a friend who claims to be familiar with your strains.

I have battled powdery mildew on my rose bushes for years, and find that a light mist of neem oil once a week really REALLY works to prevent it.
Never spray neem to the point of runoff, just mist lightly, dry, and repeat a few days later.
The glossy film that builds up acts as a prophylactic against a wide variety of molds, diseases, and pests.
Serenade is B. subtilis, a beneficial bacteria- both Serenade and Neem can be used in organic gardening and are COMPLETELY non-toxic to humans. Word.
