Mother plants vs Seeds
i'd like to know from all you growers which you'd prefer, taking clones from mother plants or growing from seeds.
I like the mother plant idea cus i spend less on seeds. I grew from seeds b4 and i have to go through removing males, and having weak females. With mother plants i know its female and i can keep its dominating traits. But they would require their own chamber and take more electricity on lights and irrigation. I definatly dont want to spend on female seeds. Any feed back would be nice.Dimebag Reviewed by Dimebag on . I prefer clones. With seeds, you never know what you are going to get. It takes arduous work selecting plants from seed. You risk growing males or even hermies. But with clones, you know you are growing a plant chosen for it's superior qualities.

CLONES GALORE.... Although one can get a bit nervous sometimes when there are 1000 clones lying around.. that is a serious bust!!!!!

Mother plants vs Seeds
I have a question. I've seen people grow a mother plant on overgrow.com's forums and take clones. Grow them and flower them, they are no more than 24 inches in height, but have huge colas (using the scrog method). Is this because the stem is pre-established and most of the plant already has its strongholds? Right now im building a small box, that will fit under my desk with two 150W HPS lights that I plan on buying, two fans, inlet fan on bottom, and outlet on top going through a custom carbon filter, mylar is already applied on the walls. The little cabinet originally had 6 pull out drawers and was on wheels. I cut she drawers out and cut the outside showing ends off, put a wooden piece behind it, looks totally stealth. Plan on filling the holes and cracks with foil tape. Pics to come soon :-D. Sorry I just rambled on...

You see, mother plants are usually kept a long time, because growers are continually taking clones from it. Over time, the mother will develop a very strong and maybe freakish looking stem. Sounds like a cool setup cool setup. Some growers forget to set up their ventilation system by the fact that hot air travels up, and that the air intake should be at the bottom, while the outtake is should be at the bottom. You seem to have really researched your stuff.
