Safe to post here (IP tracing)?

If the police subpeona the ISP then you're probably cooked but that would only come with alot more than picture from a website, they'ed have to have other evidence to go with it. For all of my internet activities I use peerguardian2 for surfing, not only does it block all known goverment ip but also it blocks third party companies that are paid to find copyright violators, its completly free from methlabs software.

Another point that I wanted to make is that investigators probably don't come on message boards for leads to bust growers.

However, if you are served a search warrant and your house is searched, the cops may seize your computer and search your hard drive. They could use want they find on your computer to further their case in busting you for growing.

I don't have any first hand knowledge of this but it sounds possible.

Just stick to a proxy and you should be just fine. Like previously posted, the man can pretty much see whatever he wants to if he tries hard enough, but there are little things you can do here and there like proxies that make it tougher, and even more things that you can do if you are smart enough.

I was actualy worried a bit about this idea of ip tracking when I first decided to post but you have to look at the scale of it... the internet is world wide. I'm a guy somewhere in Canada with one plant. It is not worth it for the police to scouer the web and these forums trying to find someone to bust based on a post.

My initial concern wasn't with the cops though, it was with 'bud stealers'.

Alright people take off your tin foil hats and look at the real facts. An IP will only lead you to the users ISP. So in order for the person using the IP to be fingered they must present a warrent to the ISP and only then will the ISP cough up the information on there valuable customers.

My IP is dynamic...that would be a blast, tracking my IP from everytime I've signed on in the past month...it's gotta be about 20 pages...even if that makes no sense, I'm with the school of thought that el fantistico is on. The police really aren't going to do that. Even if they did, I think they would be overwhelmed by all the people they'de have to arrest. This isn't the only forum like this and all of them have pictures and information about grows and growers. I really don't think they would spend that much money for weed.
