First Grow help PLZ!! (Jacky White Feminised)

Hi this is the first time that i am going to be growing. i need all the help i can get. i plan on growing one plant at a time for personel use =).

im suppost to use a 600 watt high pressure sodium light for maximum yeilds what site could i order that from that will ship to canada? would it be okay to just put the light up in my closet with a plant in a pot or what would i have to do build a box. stealth is not really an issue i just dont want the house to smell like dank. i was planning on growing it in the closet in my room. my closet's measurements are as follows.

Lenth=90cm=0.9m
Width=49.5cm=0.495m
Hight=230.5cm=2.305m

plz all the help is needed i dnt really have a budget but would like to spend as little as possible its just one plant. the quicker i get ur help the quicker i can smoke.:rastasmoke: all help is appreciated thanks in advance:jointsmile:

i grew jacky white from paradise seeds recently. its a very stable strain and i was definitely satisfied. i wouldn't recommend that strong of a light (600 watt) for the size of space you have unless you plan on getting some strong exhaust fan (~495 cubic feet per minute). You should buy an exhaust fan anyway though or else it will definitely get too hot in your closet. If possible, cut a hole in your closet ceiling and pump your exhaust up there. you probably won't have to worry about smell with only one or two plants. If you are going to grow one plant in that space you might as well grow two. The marginal benefit from growing two plants outweighs the marginal cost (you will yield more, you get in the same amount of trouble if you are caught, taking care of two plants is barely harder than taking care of one) don't listen to the yield quotes that you read on the websites, they don't mean shit. this strain yielded well, but unless you do everything perfectly as well as being a generally lucky person you won't come close to yielding what they quote. All the companies do this to make their strains seem awesome. ask yourself where you plan on taking the growing thing in the future. if you plan on doing it for a while and plan on growing more plants in the future, i would invest in a 400 watt hps which you could eventuallly move to a little bit bigger area if possible in the future. If one or two plants is all you will ever need, then i would either say still buy the 400 watt hps light or just make your own compact flourescent fixture (i can give you plans on how to do this the easiest way if you so choose). finding a way to ventilate the air out of your closet will orobably be your toughest problem. if you cant think of a way to vent the closet really, go with the CFL fixture (they dont produce much heat). tell me what you're thinking and i will get back to you

I would use a 400w sodium cooltube setup with good AC in that sized space.
I have also grown several JW plants and i agree thay are quite stable.

if all you want is one plant/personal consumption, 600w or even 400w is silly, especially if you "would like to spend as little as possible". you can buy 42w cfls for under $10 here in the you-ess and pick up fixtures for them at home despot for about the same... say $25 for both on a bad day. if you buy 6 (more than you need for a single plant unless you let it get out of bounds - cfls work well with SCROG and LST) thats $150 for about 250 watts.

AND you have way fewer problems with heat/ventilation.

Where I live, $150 will get you a nice, pre-loved, 400w, 600w, or even 1000w with ballast, bulb, and sometimes even a hood. Have you checked your local craigslist? :jointsmile:
