    smell?

How much should it smell if I'm cooking brownies?
I understand that making cannabutter smells a lot, but I've let some bud sit in a bottle of oil for a few months. If I just use that oil in a brownie recipe, first of all, will it work?
    how badly would it smell?

    thanks buddies

ALSO if I use brownie mix, is there a maximum temp. I can cook this in the oven? I mean, if it gets too hot cooking the brownies, will the THC die or whatever the hell it does?

Well... i cant answer if the oil would work for sure... it depends of a lot of factors... how many months it was in the oil, which kind of oil you used, the quality and amount of bud... so, i think the surest way to know is to take a small amount of the oil, mix with something appropriate, then eat it and see if you get any effect... comparing the amount you used with the effect, you would know how much oil would be needed for the level of highness you want.

I think it would smell less than cannabutter, but dont know if there would be no smell...

The boiling point of the THC is between 250 and 400 C (482-752F)... so, any temperature below it is safe. Of course, if the temperature were below, but too near to that, there will be a small loss of THC, but for the cooking times of brownies, this effect wont be large enough for making a great difference.

Coelho, I think you may have misunderstood the source material you're quoting from. (I think quoting 482-752F might be a bit vague). THC has a BOILING point of 392 degrees F, but it actually starts to VAPORISE at temperatures of only 230 F (110 C - not much above boiling point).

The trick with canna cooking is to cook on as low a heat that you can get away with (Though this does mean you generally have to cook for a longer time) but this way your THC is not lost to vaporisation/evaporation and has a better chance of successfully binding to the fat molecules in your chosen 'Space' products, giving you much better potency, and after all, that's the name of the game!

    Cheers

The boiling point of THC is 392 F at vacuum (0.02mm Hg, what is pretty much the same)... under atmospheric pressure, its boiling point will be greater... so, the values between 482-752 refers to 1 atm of pressure. I agree that that range is far vague, but its what i did read... when i find the source where i did find this info, i post here.

Anyway, you are absolutely right about the vaporization... i had completly forgotten it... the same happens with the water, which evaporates even at room temperatures...
