lol nah really, who's to say what is what, the labels in life really do suck. A stoner is someone who would put weed before most things in life and would rather indulge in some weed than do anything else?? I'm not sure really?

Personally, I think that's alright. Each to their own. People are very very misunderstood about tokers, and it makes me sad. Doesn't matter though, the ones who have bad things to say about anything, are the ones who usually know nothing about what they're talking about. Let them carry on with their brainwash drivel.

I think a stoner is someone who likes to get stoned.

Unfortunately and stereotipically speaking, the word is indeed not so honored by the pot smoking community. I say next time somebody calls you a stoner to bring you down; start throwing stones at them 'til they bleed. Then ask them, how it feels to be stoned by a stoner. Them command them, to never call you a stoner, ever again!

I prefer pothead to stoner, but really it's all about perception and if you feel the label is derogatory or not.

Me, I smoke pot every day... but I'm not always stoned 24/7. I have a great career, I'm a home owner, I am well spoken and educated on a variety of different topics (weed being one of them!)... and I enjoy a good end-of-the-day buzz and the odd wake-n-bake. That's how I define a pothead, an otherwise ordinary person, motivated and forward moving who enjoys smoking pot.

A stoner, in my definition, is someone who is either always stoned or trying to get stoned. In those brief moments of sobriety though, a stoner will continue to exhibit some of the negative stoned mannerisms... mumbling, unkemptness, etc. They have few interests outside of getting stoned and only talk about getting stoned. A stoner usually has a job instead of a career, one that isn't too difficult so they can show up high on a regular biases, etc.

Of course, that's just my opinion. In the other parts of the world the definitions could be totally reversed: they're just titles and words and each individual has to decide what the word means ('cause Webster's ain't going to define it!) and if it applies.

Ok really, a stoner is not a derogatory word unless used by a non smoker or someone who has never smoked. A pothead is just a bad word altogether. When I hear pothead i get the image of an unwashed 20 year old kid that looks kinda like bob dylan but fiends for pot. My friend is an exact example of that, he pinches people, steals pot from others, and smokes your whole stash or trys to make you smoke it with him.

I am a stoner and a pot head. I use both terms in a positive way. I even call myself a burnout even though I am far from burnt out. Stoner is just a term and has no real meaning.
I do live the "Stoner" lifestyle and my house smells like skunk piss.

I'd say you're a stoner when you skip a day, and you're like "Dude it's been so long since I've smoked" the day after. And then of course you realize it's only been 1 day when it feels like a week.

I'm okay with stoner, but I wouldn't like to be called a pothead. Doesn't pothead kind of imply pot has taken over your brain? Think of the possible origins of the word.
