Best Way to Curb Root Rot

I am almost to week 4 in veg, almost ready to start flower, and I have what I think is the beginnings of rot rot. There is about 1/2"-3/4" of water that doesn't drain out of my bins and two of my seven plants have roots that have grown to the point that they are long enough to just sit in it all day. The roots look slimy and brown but they don't stink and if I wipe them, the brown sludge comes off and the roots are still white. I use organic nutrients so that could account for some of the brown color, but I still fear the worst. I tried tilting the bins toward the drain to get it to empty completely, but then when it floods it causes the bins to overflow because the drain can't keep up and it makes a huge mess.

I am heading to the hydro store today to pick up something to try and curb it before it gets worse. I have heard about Super Thrive and Hygrozyme, but I wanted to know what the pros recommend. I was also going to put H2O2 in the water that rests in the bins whenever I can. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey Deja....I know of two things.....the hydrogen peroxide you are using or the zyme products....(I use cannazyme myself). Make sure you are using enough (store bought) H202 for your purposes.....I use 2 teaspoons per gallon EVERY OTHER DAY. If you go with one of the zyme products then you cannot use peroxide......it's one or the other.

Personally....if you have the cash, go for a zyme product. If not stick with your H202 and just try to be very consistent with using it.

I'm running a DWC bubbler with a wick and my roots sit in aerated solution all day. I use Dutch Master Zone as an antifungal/root conditioner and it seems to work well for me. Only 1ml/gal is needed.

I got some H2O2 at the suggestion from the guy at the hydro store and I also picked up some SuperThrive. I put 50 ml of H2O2 and one tbsp of SuperThrive in my 15 gallon res. Both had very unclear and indirect application directions, so hopefully I don't cause my plants any problems. Thanks for all the help!

Well, uhhh whoops? 1 drop is about 1 mL right? So I don't think 1 tbsp is too far from 15 mL. I was pretty sure I was close to what the box said. It will only be in there for 3 more days since I am going to change the res on Friday anways to start flowering. Do you think its that big of a deal?

Also, I don't need to know the size of your res Weedhound. I was stoned and thought that was info I needed.

Also, when you say 2 tsp per gallon, is that for 35% H2O2? Because that's what I have.

Well, if it makes you feel better, sure, you're close.

If the plants aren't suffering, then it's no big deal. I'm not trying to be a smart-ass; I just don't know what too much Superthrive will do.

Yeah I hear ya. Hopefully, if I did put in more than I should have, it just means they will thrive extra super! Hahaha, I will be sure to keep a close eye on them.

Do you know if 2 tsp of 35% H202 is good to fight off root rot?

Oh, and I was wondering how often to add the SuperThrive. The packaging is such a jumbled mess that I can't find it on there!
