HELP!!! My largest cola just bent over from its weight!! This is a 911 Call!!!

    HELP HELP HELP

I was checking in on the girls an hour ago and my biggest cola just bent over even tho it was staked up! Its in a closet grow in the back (limited space to access) and its a mess! It totally bend the stalk and its leaning on the other girls, causing branch damage to the others with its weight!

I'm running hydro-organics in a DWC bubbler and it was coming up on harvest any day now.... I think I'm gonna have to cut her off and hang the cola up to dry... I don't wanna harvest the whole plant itself until I can flush it overnight with H20 only (I am draining and refilling with H20 as I type this).

I really need to get some input here ASAP... pls help a brotha out here... Need advice so I can make the best of the situation. Oh crap, the timer just clicked and it lights out time...

Yeah, been trying to do that but the closet is so packed that I can't get to the back and tie her up to the ceiling I'm getting covered in triches and each time I move a branch, another one is on the edge of falling over too.

Looks like I'll harvest the top and then get to the rest of her tomorrow or later in the week. They are pretty close -- of all things I went in to check trich color with the 30x and my biggest cola was 'missing'... and it was looking like this week was the week to harvest anyway
    :chainsaw:

KL4D4 -- Any further suggestions on how to handle the plant assuming I have to remove her cola tonight? Thanks for your input and I'll post the outcome.

Shouldn't be a big problem....quick snip with the pruning shears and run. I've cut off entire branches near harvest without harm to the plant.....worse to let the thing set there and ruin other branches.

Well, it's done. The cola and a few of the branches that it KO-ed have been cut and hung to dry. It was a very sticky and stinky firedrill of sorts. Good thing my roommate is out of town for a couple of weeks, cuz they are drying in the spare closet!

    Whew!

Thanks WH and KL4D4. That's was a lot of meds at risk for a MMJ patient/grower. I feel better about now, time to medicate.

HELP!!! My largest cola just bent over from its weight!! This is a 911 Call!!!

Ok gang, a quick follow up question:

I emptied and filled with pH correct water last night. I also have a couple of submersible pumps from a prior drip system that I can use to run at intervals to leach the medium (hydroton) and roots.

So the question is: How long should I let the bubbler do its thing before harvesting?

Or: If I add a large volume of water on an aggressive schedule by pumping over onto the medium (I'm talking 5 minute intervals using a 150 gph pump, straight fed thru a 1/2" hose - a massive 'drip' effect), will this help speed it up?

Also, how long will I need to wait til I can harvest without compromising the taste and smell of the herb?

I'm using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro's Bloom / Sweet / Karma and the Botanicare 'schedule' says 2-3 days at end of flower...

    Thanks for your help

You need to find out where your trichomes are at.....unless you just a are going to run it for a few days and then harvest regardless. You can run ph'd water through the system at the end for up to two weeks (and I have before) while you wait for the END....or just decide you are going to harvest next Friday or whatever and do it.

Watch the ph carefully during this time......it will jump around alot due to no ph buffers in the water.

Oh....and I probably wouldn't start adding a drip system or "helping" speed things up in any way as those things usually fall pretty flat. You don"t want to drown your roots either. You've gotten this far very well.....don't lose it at the end..
