I don't think there's a such thing as being too high...it's all about how you perceive it. I remember the first time I got high, I felt like I was passing out. Now I think the blacking out and the nausea was my anxiety because I could no control my thoughts and my feelings. Something I learned later on, when tripping really hard, you aren't in control anymore, what's in control is that subconscious body that you tuck away and hide your entire life until one day you take the right key and open it's cage. Then you get all fucked because you can't control that ego anymore. You jumped in the rabbit hole, and you're fucking out because you can't keep up with it. I remember how everything spun, how I thought I was going to puke or die. I remember having to lay down to keep from passing out. I thought it was the weed. I learned later on what I wish I had known then. Tryptamines taught me a very valuable lesson about life and control thereof. Marijuana is one of the most fun, most social substances I can think of, but there are certain times when it's a tool. There are times when it's not meant to be played with. When your mind has something to tell you, and you give it that change. Marijuana is that catalyst. When you get that high and it scares you. Welcome to yourself.
