    1ST GROW.........Northern lights/ thai stick

hows it going....been reading for months, probably more than my school work.

recently began my first grow, using Northern Lights and Thai Stick seeds in a 12x13 foot room. Germinated for 24 hrs in water and planted in Fox Farm Ocean Mix potting soil. my setup is as follows:

-1000 W Hortilux Super HPS grow lamp
-Sun Systems Super Sun 2, 6" air cooled reflector
-planted in large plastic pots approx 2 gallon pots
-using bottled natural spring water with ph adjusted to 6.7 to 6.9 using Advanced Nutrients phUP and phDOWN adjusters.
-fox farm grow big 6-4-4 nutrients (not using yet)
-using a light, ph, and moisture guage (not digital)

We planted the babies at seperate times due to length of germination, about 2 weeks ago. Currently giving each plant 30mL of water twice per day, using a spray bottle. Here is the rundown on each plant:

Plant 1 is at 14 days. (not pictured)
Plant 2 is at 14 days, and our strongest looking plant.
Plant 3 is at 8 days.
Plant 4 is at 10 days. (Thai stick)
Plant 5 is at 8 days.

As you can see, things are looking pretty good (at least i think so!) The only thing that we can see happening is that 2 of the plants, plants 1 and 4, seem to be turning yellowish. This just started 2 days ago.

We think that it was because we were using tap water, and we have a salt-using water softner. We have since switched to natural bottled spring water.

We are using a 18/6 lighting cycle. Light is on from 4pm to 10am. Light is off from 10am to 4pm.

The temperature in the room averages 30degrees Celsius when the light is on, and 26.5 degrees Celsius when the light is off.

We are planning to start adding nutrients around day 25 for each plant. anyone have advice for nutrients? when/where/how much etc? we were thinking starting at 1/4th the recommended parts per gallon.

Anyway, if anyone that is experienced, especially with northern lights, has ANY comments, recommendations, or helpful advice it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Also- I do not have50 posts yet but will post photos as soon as I can.

hover your mouse over the pic and look at the end of the name to see how old it is.

we are getting some yellowing as you may notice, and we think its magnesium and/or nitrogen deficiency. any hints?

we also have some of the leaves of the biggest 2 curling up.

i really hope some people post...:wtf:

How tall is your room? From my knowledge, Thai is pretty much straight sativa and gets massive, might be something to check out. Sounds gnarly though.

UPDATE........Of all my plants only 3 are alive today. The biggest Thai and 2 smaller NL's all died slowly by turning yellow. funny because no plant was treated any differently than any other.

Now i have 3 plants 2 NL's that are 45 days old. they are 9.5in and 7in tall.
and one little plant that is about 4 inches tall and about 35 days old. ( it didn't grow at all for the longest time).

both larger plants have shown tiny sac like things with longer thin white hairs coming out of the top. hopefully i have 2 females here.

my plan is to grow these plants for about 10 more days before i take 5 cuttlings off of each for cloning in a separate room. Over the next 3 weeks as the cuttlings are developing roots i was planning on keeping the 2 mothers in vegatative state until large enough to get a decent amount of bud and to be sure the cuttlings survive. at which point i hope to flower the 2 mothers and then shorty after 8 of my clones keeeping 2 as mothers.............

what do you think......i know its been a awhile since i posted but nothing really goin on just trying let them be as much as possible. PICTURES will be posted as soon as the lights come on.

by the way plant 1(the tallest) is now to be called Abbey and plant 2 Hannah.......To be continued
