Thereā??s more then enough proof to show BH's exist, It's what they are that will prevent us from probing them. There would be a way to harness the Black holes energy by using its magnetic field to generate current, but this would slow down the holes spin (eventually). What variables? I admit there is much we don't know about Black Holes but energy in our Universe is conserved, there will never be any unlimited power source.
