It's not spiritual, it is, but a better term would be "energetic". Because to the physical, the dimensions of space above it only seem to be non-existent or in "spirit", when really it's just a non-collapsed version of the wave-particle energy which creates the universe. It's infinite in nature, so yes alternate realities naturally appear. The dimenions is a loose term too, as you can see someone already took it literally and made notion of the "x-y-z" measurements of space.
