Just go back and very politely explain yourself to a wally-world employee. I did the same thing and went back to explain it; the woman told me that many people buy the containers and forget/leave the lids, so they have extras everywhere.

I eventually get home to find out that I left the damn lids on the bottom of the shopping cart, I just shrugged it off cause I really didnt need em.
