Using a pipe without a screen.
when it comes to the point where the ash could be looming around I start pulling into my mouth like im sucking a straw. That way you can be more gradual and if it looks like its not gonna ash your throat you can kinda breathe in a little harder. I just prefer the screen sometimes when i want a little hit or two without having to pack a whole bowls worth.
peaceeasy Reviewed by peaceeasy on . Using a pipe without a screen. Does anyone who uses a pipe without a screen have tips to keep ashes/embers out of your mouth and throat? For some reason using a screen is annoying to me, and when friends would always use one for some reason I found it irritating to see them fiddle with it. Anyways, especially at the end when you would get the popper if it were a bong, I sometimes get chunks of ash or burning material in my mouth and it tastes disgusting as hell. Thanks for any info. :pipe::eek: Rating: 5

I didn't use a screen until I bought some glass jack screens, they're pretty good.

wow i cant believe so many of you use a pebble or stems even!
stems will light and then the great taste is tainted.
I Always just break a little pebble shaped nug to cover hole, then pack bowl.:thumbsup:

if its a rather small piece of stem, like as thick as a guitar string, it shouldnt add any taste at all. on the contrary, if its from some dank nugs, the stems are covered in trichomes and will get you moked.

i used to be able to pack exactly like that
over i worked at a beach club and we'd smoke bowls cuz it was easier to get away with and quicker and my friends would always make me pack cuz it never pulled through and they lasted so long. my regular school friends enjoy blunts much more so yesterday was the first time i used my piece in weeks and im afraid to say i lost the touch

my trick is put a small nug over the hole and grind up or tear up the rest, its works fairly well, but of course it will burn and ash later, but thats when u learn to repack another bow;

i never use a screen - just break off a slightly larger hunk of your weed to put where the whole is, then break it up finer on top. no need to be dealing with rocks and grinders...thats for pussies.
