Cannabis and Alcohol Cross Tolerance?

Does anyone know if there is a cross-tolerance between the two?

I have been toking 1-1.5 grams a day for a while now, so my tolerance is up there. i rarely get high anymore.

i went to a wedding tonight. i had not smoked since thursday night, so nearly 48 hrs.

I had 7 glasses of white wine between 9-9:30 and then went dancing.

I was only even slightly buzzed for like 3 songs, and I rarely if ever touch alcohol.

By 10:15 or so, I was entirely sober. 7 glasses! wtf?

some people have higher tollernaces to alcohol then others...

Also, if the menu included greasy starchy foods, that could inhibit the absorption of alcohol.

I dont think its linked. Like Slip said, some people tolerate it more than others.. I can smoke like crazy and be ok and i get drunk easily and sick easily aswell. Thats why i dont really touch alcohol either. I stick to green ;p

Cannabis affects completely different parts in your mind in comparison to alcohol, I highly doubt it.

Wine is around 17% alcohol I think, so two glasses of wine is like one shot.

So 7/2 = 3.5 shots worth of alcohol. (el oh el, math?)

It doesn't seem like that would get you that drunk especially if you've had starchy foods, as PS mentioned, or are 150+ lbs.

Last time I checked most wine is 13-14%. Regular beer is 5-8%, light beer is 3-4%. Getting drunk depends on a lot of things, most importantly how much food is in your stomach. Fat slows the absorption of alcohol most, so if you just ate Burger King or Pizza Hut be prepared to tolerate much more. Drink when you're hungry, however, and prepare to get buzzed on one drink

Don't drink too much though...anytime I drink on an empty stomach I usually end up not remembering a thing the next morning. When a drink after a good meal...I at least remember bits and pieces...
