That sucks.

The majority of this advice is good.

Tell her you will wait until she turns 18, but remember, it's better to give her the space to make her own decision, and you need to respect her parents wishes because they do have legal recourse against you, plus, it's just the way things are, and it's not fair to put your girl in the position of choosing between her parents and you.

If you both feel it's worth it after a year, then get back together. But you may have a change of heart or you might meet someone else (or she might meet someone else).

It should get better over time, especially if you try to stay busy and keep your mind off of things that you can't change.
