Curly CFLs will work just fine! Get the biggest ones you can find. Even the tube type fluoros will work! Just keep them close to the plants- like 1-2 inches. My first grow was under the tube type fluoros. I had just 6 tubes (by the end of the grow), but that was enough to give me enough to keep me happy- and I'm a medical user. Each pair of tubes and the fixtures ran a total of about $12. You can start with one pair and add on as your plants grow. That's what I did.

The CFLs run about $8 per bulb at Walmart. The are a bit hotter than the tubes, but no where near as hot as HPS etc. You can bump a CFL and not get burned badly. They need to be 3-4 inches from your plants. And again, you can spread the purchases out over time. Just keep adding to it, one or two bulbs at a time. They fit into normal light sockets- nothing special needed! Hit a thrift store or yard sale and look for multi socket fixtures. I picked up a 3 socket and a 4 socket bathroom light fixtures for about $3 each. You often find the tube type fixtures at yard sales, too.

This doesn't need to be a huge financial investment! It can be done for very little outlay! Just use your head! The big lights are nice- bigger yields, etc, but if you are just growing for yourself, they are not necessary! Get a light, add a couple of bags of good potting soil and some pots that are 3 to 5 gallons, some soft drink cups- and you're in business! - Go for it! - Granny:hippy:
Storm Crow Reviewed by Storm Crow on . I have a question I got a really dank sack today.. 70 an eight and it came with 7 seeds. I've never tried to grow and I was just woundering if I could just plant them in a pot with some soil and water it everday... Would that work? Thanks! Rating: 5
