    Seeds From a hermi

I have a few plots of OD plants.

Well, one of the plots had a hermi in it that released it's pollen....seeds EVERYWHERE. The hermi was pulled, but all the females are ruined. I am wondering if I should waste the time keeping the seeds for next year?? I am under the assumption that all of the seeds will be female, or hermi..true? The other problem is that the plants in this plot didn't really stay as healthy as other plots.

Are they worth keeping, or should I just let them fall as they may?

yes keep the seeds, you never know when you might need them. you can still get males from hermi seeds, probably equal amounts off herm and male and maybe a little higher percentage of females. imho

hermi seeds will give more females than males in my experience. besides, seeds are always good (unless picking a few seeds out of a nug bothers you).

TRASH those damned hermies ! ... they only pollute future genetics, and guarantee problems ... between the sloppy genetics and hybrids, that's why the really classic strains have disappeared from the planet ... I'm serious about this ... smoke your plants and destroy the seeds ... :smokin:

Ok, that's kinda what I was thinking. I will just get rid of them.

I admit, I'm on a mission against hermies, but seriously, many growers are realizing that the "induced-hermie for more females idea", just wasn't as good as first thought ... its a garbage trait in a plant ... :smokin:

I agree it's not a desirerable trait, but arent "feminized seeds" produced by fertilizing a female with a with a stress hermi?

yup, as it was thought not to promote itself, but seems to, regardless ... jury is out ... I've always had amazing male/female ratios, so it's never been an issue for me ... I went for many years with only two males ever appearing, and I have NEVER had a hermaphrodite ... I'm just lucky, nothing to brag about ... :smokin:

Herm seeds are good for outdoor Johnny Appleseeding because of the high amount of females. But indoors, they do add huge risk to a grow becoming seedy schwag. Also, the point of them polluting the indoor genetic pool is valid.

Those are going to be virtually all female.
However, they will carry a propensity to also herm under similar conditions to the pollen-donor herm female.
Herm-seed grower beware. If you had a female who you stressed in really severe and obvious ways that you have now FIXED, you may be just fine to grow out those seeds. If you have no clue why she flipped on ya, TOSS THE BEANS outside and let the birds eat them.
