Smoking while sick??

i had strep reallly freaking bad monday and a fever and if i even thought about smokin i would have probably thrown up lol.:jointsmile:

I was sick recently with the flu and I had a fever soar throat etc and after I smoked soar throat was instantly gone. I thought id cough like crazy since id been coughing while not smoking but instead I felt the smoke kinda wrap around my throat and make me not cough. The fever also felt better but what I found most surprising was the throat thing.

some may find it good to smoke while sick, but what i prefer is a good cup of tea, i use catnip with about a teaspoon of honey.

heat your water to just before boiling pour water over heaping tablesoon of catnip cover and allow to cool for about 20 min. add honey or sugar if you prefer. sometimes i will also add a pinch of fenugreek seeds but if you do this doNOT sweeten drink straight.

cat nip is actually classified as a mild halucinagen. it releives pain,prevents spasms, and calms the nerves. also releives gas and causes perspiration. catnip is also safe enough that i gave it to my daughtr as an infant many times,of course not as stong of a dosage

fenugreek is good for treating inflamation, sore throats ad disolves mucus.

you can find these at many health food stores or just open your phone book and look up herbs

its an old remedy grandma taught me. she taught me a lot. ive been using herbs and the like for as long as i can remember. i have never been to a doctor and im healthy as a horse. no wait i take that back when i joined the army i had to see a doctor then but that was only so he could say i was healthy enough to serve.

i fell out of atree once and broke my leg. my uncle reset the bone and grandma wrapped it with a poultice, then gave me a shot of grandpas finest for the pain. i was up and hobblin the next day and withen about 4 weeks it as hard to tell i was hurt at all.

i used to treat my xwifes asthma with herbs and got her off 3 of her scipts. just like marijuana the plants of the earth are here to heal you, you just have to have a knowlage of wich ones to use and how to use them.

also its true that an once of prevention i worth a pound af cure.

I'll tell you, it SUCKS when you have bad allergies, i smoked and i got really bad allergies and i couldnt even enjoy my high...

how were you smoking, grade of erb, etc. maybe i can help if you post details.

it relaxes my allergies. normally they are so bad, sometimes my face ticks a slight bit trying to get airflow through my nose.

i think it may be because allergies are an over-active immune system, and weed does slightly reduce immune functioning.

why can't one sweeten the tea if using fenugreek seeds?

Smoking while sick is great, I remember when I had a crappy cold and a really bad cough(was coughing every few seconds). I had a nice little smoking sesh and my cough stopped, it was great.

sugars will reduce the effect of the fenugreek.

yep ive smoked catnip it does give you a buzz but its really strange and not very potent. kinda heady

Smoking while sick will of course alleviate the immediate symptoms (cause you'll be blazed), and you'll feel better while high and maybe even that day. However, smoking while sick isn't ideal because it does suppress the immune system, meaning your body will take longer to finally get over your sickness. So, if you're feeling pretty shitty, I'd say just lay off blazing for a little bit and allow your immune system to get back to normal. Then just toss a chronic salad and steep some grean tea.
