I have to admit.. I'm lazy. I don't remember the last time I cleaned my cloner, and there are parts with green algea but I have never had a clone die and they come out great!

ahh Pete I see in your av!
I stripped mine down even further, and don't even use the insert any more- a rapidrooter upside-down stands up on its own, lol! I like having max air flow around all parts of the cutting and plug.

You can't beat a cheapo aerocloner for ease of assembly, big fluffy root mass, and close to zero mortality rate. Use a B1 such as SuperThrive, like 2 drops per gallon to stimulate root growth and ease shock. Search scarification, do it, and dip your clones in the rooting hormone of your choice, and sit back and watch the roots come.

I made my bubble-cloner from Opie's earlier 'how-to' threads, and have had pretty much 100% results ... great little project

what's the easiest to clone?
Ok, you are all going to laugh at how I just cloned for the first time
I used an aluminum roast pan, soaked 4 rockwool cubes (1" that plug into 4") in water @ pH 6.0. I then put a straw in the middle of the rockwool cubes (in a box formation) on the tray, filled it with water, and put some saran wrap over the top, which rested on the straw. I used some rooting gel and made sure to peel the outer green layer off of the stems where I wanted roots. I had roots growing out of the outer rockwool cubes in about four days. Tada! hahaha
I open it up and misted daily.

I am definitely not going to laugh. 4 days is awesome. That means they actually started showing roots at 2 or 3 days. That's the fastest I've ever heard of. What kind of seed is it? What kind of rooting gel?
What a great DIY success story.

Thanks for holding the laughter, lol. The clones were cut off of my first grow, bagseed. It was most definately sativa dominate, as it grew to almost 2 meters indoor thru flowering (a total lifespan of 3 1/2 months). As for the cloning gel, it was whatever comes with the BC nutrient pack (grow, boost, bloom, cloning gel, thrive alive red/green, and super bloom I think it is called...).
Yeah, I wish I had taken pictures of the setup. I was laughing at day one, and my girlfriend and I really doubted that they would take off.
Ohhhh, I also read from the "bible" that you should cut half of each leaf off, and all the lower branches, so I did that as well.
I just did this a little over a week ago, I'll take some pics tonight or tomorrow and show you the clones at 11 days from being cut. They are nice and green sitting in 4 gallons each of happy frog.
