How to Suggest MMJ to my Mom?? PLEASE HELP.

Yess i still live with my mom (dad outta the pic) but will be movin out in the near future. My mom has been through very many 40+ surgeries. She takes a long list of prescriptions, from anxiety to pain killers (even oxycodone). I have come to learn the medicinal benefits of ganja. I know it will help all of the above. It really worries me what all these pills are doing to her body. I know she will most deffinetly be approved for a medical card. Also living less than 30 minutes from the holyland of humbolt county the process will not be hard. Cannabis is natural and 100000xs safer than any of those pills. She does not disapprove of cannabis, but doesnt know i am a toker. How can i suggest to her to look in to medical marijuana, with out me looking like a toker? Please help.

Would she really be mad if she found out you smoke mary j? I think people should be honest to their parents about what they are doing, and I'm only guessing, but I doubt she would kick you out if you admitted to it.

With that said, I would gather as much information as you can on studies done with cannabis used for each condition she has, print it all out and share it with her. This might also be a good time to admit your own use because you are using your knowledge to try to help her health. Just be as mature as you can about the situation, and I think she will talk to you like an adult about her use of marijuana, and possibly even yours.

Do you think she would really care if she found out you use? Chances are she already has her suspicions, my mom had suspicions of me using for a long time so it wasn't a big deal when I talked to her about it, and she was always against it, just not very strict, she's just a teacher, so she's been missinformed about the "dangers" ya know

You don't say what her medical conditions are for which she takes so many medications. Cannabis is a great medicine for many illnesses, but there are a few for which it could potentially cause more problems than it solves. If she's a heart or lung patient, for instance, smoked cannabis can be risky.

If you live in a medical MJ state, then if she gets a card and goes to a dispensary, they can help her find the right strain to treat what she has. In a non-medical MJ state, such help is nearly impossible for people to get by simply buying what's available on the street.

How old are you? If you're mature enough to discuss medical cannabis with your mom you ought to be mature enough to own up to being a toker yourself. Start by reading and researching those links, then begin printing articles and abstracts out and educating your mother. Make it clear that abstracts are only brief summaries, and take notice of the fact that many of the abstracts summarize rat and mouse studies, not human studies. So we can't always conclude that what's good for mice in studies with isolated THC compounds will translate to the same effects for humans with whole smoked or eaten cannabis.

tell her you read on some forums that people are using it for pain management, and to reduce their intake of rx meds..norml has tons of great information...hope she takes on the benefits that cannabis has to offer, it makes my life so very much easier...:thumbsup:
