I know I shouldnt but it gives me a good adrenaline buzz, and is easier to do than other things which would do the same. The fastest I have ever gone in a car was 120 Mph with just me in the car. Not a chance any road vehicle could gain 100MPH in 2 seconds. The worlds most powerful car the Bugati Veyron (1000bhp) has a 0-60 time of around 3 seconds. As you get above 60 it takes longer than 3 seconds to get to 120 (double the speed).

Im sure that the fastest bike in the world has a 0-60 of around 2.5 seconds.

Nope TPot, not exagerating at all. Ask my wife, LOL, she pee'd her pants. The '06 GTO I own has 405 RWHP, and it's limited at 153 MPH. And knowing your from Georgia, have you ever been down I-185 from LaGrange to Columbus? Nothing there, plenty of straights, and hardly ZERO enforcement. Almost lieke the Autobahn. THAT is where I hit 153, and when I figure out how to kill that damn limiter, I'll post even faster times. Of course you know the LS@ engine in the GTO also comes in the Corvette, but by GM's infinit wisdom, they couldn't let a lowly GTO outrun a Vette, hence the limiter.

Lots of bikes will top 200 mph if they aren't restricted by law, which to my mind is crazy.
Bikes in the UK must be restricted to186mph (300km/h) If I was crazy enough to try this on a road or track (and I definately don't reccomend any British roads) then if it did go tits up I reckon I would end up as roadkill wether I was doing 180 or just that little bit higher .
If you really want to fly I reccomend the nearest racetrack..

This statement confuses the shit out of me... where did you get that impression? When I lived in Germany, my friends dad got a brand new Porshe 959 and took us out on the Autobahn. We got up to about 180, 190.

As a driver, the fastest Ive ever gotten my cars up to, is about 115-120, but I would do it pretty regularly in my Escort. Late for work a few mornings, I even changed lanes at that speed. The car in the left lane was going slow so I came up in the right lane and squeezed in between the car ahead of me and the car in the left lane with inches to spare on either side, the car slid at an angle for about 35 feet, tires caught, and dipped the fuck out.

I cant wait until I get behind the wheel of a fast car...

After more research I have actually found that it is only BMW, Audi and Mercedes that have agreed to fit an electronic limiter that will stop the car topping 155MPH.

You ask the question "where did you get that impression?", like im stupid, when you dont even realise that German cars are limited. Look at the specs of any new Audi, BMW and Mercedes and you will see non of the top speeds are above 155MPH.

I know how fast a car goes. I know that you can supercharge a 1970 GTO to go 0-60 in ONE SECOND. It's been done. I know the Veyron tops at 407(253mph?) km/h. I know cars.

I also know that anyone can, and will, say whatever they want, just because they can.

I'm not putting anyone down. I'm just saying alot of this is just really hard to believe. Seriously, be skeptical. How many people have superbikes or can really drive 170mph. I'm sure a few can, and do. I'm also sure that a few don't, and lie about it. And the point I was trying to make was -
nobody will ever know the difference.

I'm just saying, when someone says "Yeah dude some guy just picked me up in his Ferrari when I was talkin to him and took me around at 200 mph", you can accept it, or you can realize that someone just wanted to make a cool post. So for real, I know alot of you are being real, and without a doubt some aren't. Either way, it's just the internet.
