Medicinally vs. Recreationally
Both, in equal amounts, at the same time.
I need it to function [knee and back problems] and i love getting stoned in the process.

More recreational than medicinal for me, but I definitely put it to use for its medicinal qualities every once in a while.

i have insomnia, and was prescribed some sort of sleep aide long ago. once i started smoking 2 years ago, i've never had to use it. but marijuana is not medically available in my state, so i still consider it recreational.

Medicinally vs. Recreationally
Both! It's the best medicine for my migraines (due to a head trauma). As long as I toke, I only get "normal" headaches. And believe me, I TRIED not toking- I work at a school and it could cost me my job! I lasted 3 hellish years. The migraine and "repeating wave" headaches got pretty bad before I went and got "California legal". I even got my head scanned to make sure there was no tumor, then I started toking every day.
Now I get just a "shadow" of what I likely would be suffering through. A tiny shiver of discomfort, pulses where "an ax" would have been before. Or my vision "tweeks" so it's like looking through almost right glasses- that used to accompany some major migraines. No nausea, no pain- just the visuals- I can live with that! :wtf:
So how did I discover that cannabis was a miracle migraine treatment? Simple- I liked it! It helped with those pesky monthly cramps (prime migraine time) and so after getting married, I kept a stash around. After a few years worth of use, I made a great discovery! Marijuana = NO MIGRAINES!
I'd likely use it even if it didn't get rid of the bane of my life, just not as much! It's fun and a most pleasant medicine! For a listing of studies on the medical uses of cannabis, please click the link in my sig.
