I'm not sure how strongly that works in a flower top, but in a vegging plant, the top shoot releases hormones called auxins that suppress side shoot growth. This is called apical dominance. To break this dominance, you can pinch the highest tip on the plant, or bend it down below the level of some side growth, and this will allow the side growth to bush out.
Don't pinch less than 3 weeks before inducing flower.

Sure, but remember a couple things:
-Don't cut anything off at this point
-Don't bend the colas lower than any other point on the plant
-Be careful not to snap stems

good good no i just want to slow the growth of the tallest cola which stands a good 6-7" higher than the others to allow the others to catch up, i can then train them to lie flat and parallel for a better yeild to time ratio

I've read that others have chopped the colas at harvest and left the lower parts under lights to fill out another week. I've never tried this personally.

you can harvest partial amounts any way you want ... some people even re-veg after harvesting almost all of the plant, but all it ever did for me was result in light-stress which made the plant grow weird ... I think the success of that MAY be a strain characteristic, as it doesn't seem to bother some plants ... :smokin:

when the plant reveg,s it does grow back weird , really weird , 3 or 4 weeks later it will straighten itself out again no problems , proper leaves and everything . some strains wont reveg as easy as others though but retard growth for a month is normal
