hey penny. another texas man here. down dirty south though. at any rate, the set up sounds nice man. i am planning the same type of set up for my grow. i have read alot and found the cheapest way to do exhaust is with a computer fan out of an old computer tower. you only need one on the top exhaust though, it will pull the cool air in from the bottom (use 2 intake ports)(light proof) and will save $.

your silver cola on top means female. congrats. if you spot little balls, this is male or hermi.

i have read that cfl's are great. high output, low energy costs and low heat. i have already purchased some blue spectrum for my veg stage. i will end up using 2 or 3 blue spec. for 1-2 plants. during flowering stage (12-12) I will add one red spectrum cfl. to balance it all out. just envision the Pink Floyd art. the rainbow represents all colors of the light spectrum. blue is for veg....red is to aid the blue in flowering.

just remember that air that is moving is cooler than stale air. keep those fans turning so you can get more cool air into the cabinet. (hence 2 intake ports) get yourself a thermometer and keep it below 79degrees to be safe.

also i have heard that worm castings are GREAT for a soil additive. it's cheap and creates a great tasting smoke in the end. just add it to your plain soil and perlite and your good to grow.
